Which Activities Are Audited
Message Archiving creates one audit record for each of the following activities that users perform in the message archive:
Message Access
The user accessed a message in one of the following ways:

Viewed the content of the message in Message Center or Message Archiving
*
Exported the message by downloading it to a file
*
Exported the message by forwarding it to his or her email address
*

For email messages, the date, sender, recipient, and subject. For IM conversations, the date, participants, duration, and IM service (requires Postini IM Security).

A list of all users who accessed the message, including the date and time access occurred.
Message Search
The user submitted a search using a search panel on the Search tab or Discovery tab, or in the Personal Archive.

Any text that the user entered on a search panel. Does not include any other search criteria that the user entered.

Optionally, the complete query that Message Archiving created based on the search criteria the user entered. Message Archiving queries are in Lucene query syntax.
Message Export
The user exported all the results of a search to an MBOX or PST file.

The date and time at which the search results were exported.
*
The email address of the user who exported search results.
*
The parameters of the search that returned the exported messages.
The user manually purged messages from the archive
*
The date and time at which the messages were purged from the archive.
*
The month the messages were originally archived, the number of messages, and the collective size of the purged messages.
