Nokia Message Protector is the industry's first integrated, multi-layered security solution purpose-built to protect email against all common threats, including spam, unlawful or unwanted content, denial of service attacks and computer viruses.

Nokia Message Protector is the first appliance to capitalize on two leading-edge Postini technologies:
- Postini Anti-Spam Engine (PASE) is a proven software platform that
uses thousands of Postini-developed heuristic expressions to recognize,
filter and combat unwanted email.
- Postini Threat Identification Network (PTIN) leverages a database of more than 1600 enterprises and 120 million daily email messages to identify and block IP addresses engaged in malicious and threatening email behavior – spam, viruses, Directory Harvest Attacks, and Denial of Service attacks. The database is updated every 60 seconds allowing Nokia Message Protector to accurately eliminate spam without re-routing enterprise email traffic to an external service. All processing is done inside the firewall.
