POSTINI ANNOUNCES NEW AND ENHANCED SOLUTIONS FOR COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE

Integrated Suite of On-Demand Solutions Deliver Compelling Value to Businesses Worldwide

SAN CARLOS, CA, April 2, 2007 — Postini, a global leader in on-demand communications security and compliance solutions for email, instant messaging and the web, today announced new additions and enhancements to its integrated suite of Software as a Service solutions. Postini's solutions are designed to protect businesses worldwide from threats to their electronic communications, control business policies, secure intellectual property, assure privacy, and ease compliance with legal and industry mandates for the retention and discovery of email and instant messages.

Postini's message archiving solutions offer businesses centralized, on-demand archiving of email and instant messages, grant individuals self-service capabilities for search and retrieval, and expedite the discovery and recovery of information for HR, IT and legal inquiries. New capabilities include:

  • Investigation management – New investigation management tools make it easier and more cost effective for businesses to manage the discovery process, including compliance, with the newly amended Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Productivity for business users and IT organizations – The new Postini Personal Archive and Postini Toolbar provide business users with desktop access to archived messages, empowering them to find and restore lost or deleted messages without IT assistance.

Postini email encryption solutions provide secure, policy-based email encryption which is designed to protect privacy, prevent IP leakage, and enable compliance with internal business policies and domestic and international government regulations. Among the enhancements are:

  • Email message encryption - New email message encryption enables business users to safely send encrypted email over the internet directly to anyone, including consumers. These encrypted emails can be easily decrypted, viewed and replied to within their email inbox. Coupled with Postini's policy enforced TLS encryption solution, organizations now can deploy secure email for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer communications.

Protect from global threats across multiple communications channels
Postini's communications security solutions are designed to protect businesses from external threats such as spam, viruses, phishing, fraud, and other attacks across email, instant messaging and the web. These solutions also enable businesses to enforce policies designed to protect privacy and prevent event intellectual property leakage.

Postini Email Security has been significantly enhanced with new innovations including:

  • Adaptive heuristics - New algorithms to detect and protect against distributed bot-net attacks, as well as enhanced content scanning and image detection algorithms to detect and block image based spam, significantly enhance the security of email communications.
  • Improved network intelligence – Significant performance and data sharing improvements to Postini Threat Information Network (PTIN) deliver early detection and blocking of zero-hour spam and virus outbreaks.
  • Binary data scanning – Enhanced content inspection capabilities for binary and compressed files can block malware from entering and keep confidential information from exiting the business.

Postini Web Security protects businesses from web based threats and enforces acceptable web usage policies. New capabilities include:

  • Pre-scanned search results – New search result classification with an "early warning system" for search results from popular search engines including Google, Yahoo! and MSN alerts users to search results linking to sites that contain malware or inappropriate content.
  • Intelligent web protection - New intelligent web protection blocks access to portions of web sites that conflict with usage policies or contain malicious content, allowing unimpeded access to the remainder of the site.

New Postini platform services deliver productivity and integration
Postini's solutions are built on a uniquely architected on-demand platform that enables administrators to implement unified communication policies, manage users and track results from a centralized web-based console. New capabilities include:

  • New Postini Message Center – New user interface unifies end-user access to all Postini solutions, dramatically simplifies navigation, improves business user productivity and reduces the cost of IT administration.
  • New Postini web services - New web services enable automated and seamless connectivity between Postini's systems and those of Postini clients and business partners based on open internet standards.
  • Expanded operations – Postini's addition of two secure data centers in Vancouver and Toronto expands Postini operations to fourteen systems enabling Postini to offer its solutions in-country to Canadian businesses.
